OLC: Exploring Open Educational Resources
Start Date: 12/2/2016
End Date: 12/2/2016
Event Description:

This asynchronous workshop will begin December 7th at 12:00PM and end December 9th at 11:59PM

The term Open educational resources (OER) was first adopted by UNESCO in 2002 to describe materials used to support education that can be freely accessed, reused, modified, and shared in order to improve the quality of curricula and teaching and reduce costs.  In this workshop, you will learn where to find high quality, openly licensed materials and how to reuse them.  We will also cover creative commons licensing, attribution of open educational resources, and accessibility considerations.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify open educational resources and motivations for using them
  • Describe open licenses and how they enable re-use of educational resources
  • Analyze best practices for finding and adopting open educational resources

Format:

This workshop is a three day long, asynchronous learning experience beginning on a Wednesday and ending the following Friday. Total length of time to completion: 3 days.
