Designing Assessments in Online Courses

Event Description:

This workshop introduces faculty to strategies for developing formative and summative assessments of student progress, as well as satisfaction with the course and instructor in meeting course outcomes.  By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify strategies and best practices for assessing student success in an online course.
  • Identify challenges in the design, development and delivery of online assessment.
  • Identify ELMS assessment tools useful for conducting low-stakes assessments.
  • Create a diverse array of assessments in an online course.
  • Create a rubric to tie learning outcomes to an assignment.
