Webinar:  Using Digital Signage in Your Library 

The days of posting important announcements on a library bulletin board and hoping someone might see them are ending. Today’s digital signage offers many more visible and effective options. Using technologies such as LCD, LED, projection, and tablets to display content as digital images, video, streaming media, and other formats, digital signage can be found in more and more libraries today.  By the end of this webinar, participants will learn to:
-Create inviting and memorable digital signage;
- Define, identify, and utilize the best practices for creating digital signage;
- Make the case to your stakeholders in support of adding digital signage;
- Gain access to, or have creative input into your library’s digital signage or event advertising

Units that present include, the office of employee benefits, Division of Information Technology, University Police, Office of Civil Rights & Sexual Misconduct, & More. A bus tour of campus is provided by the Department of Transportation Services and a lunch break is taken at the Stamp Student Union.

This course provides participants with skills for effective two-way communication, including listening, empathy, observing and responding. A recent survey found that 86% of all workplace issues could have been prevented through better communication. The facilitator gives attendees tools to improve their ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers or customers.

Presentation skills training for UHR employees only. 

Session Objectives:
  1. Identify what works and what doesn't in presentations
  2. Identify any specific challenges you have with presentations or anything you'd like to know on how to improve your presentation skills
  3. Brainstorm solutions to "pump up" your presentation and make it more exciting, interactive and, most importantly, effective.

A few notes about the session:

  • This session is entirely for you so the more prepared you are to engage and speak up, the more effective it will be.
  • This will be an interactive, roll your sleeves up workshop so please come prepared to contribute.

This workshop provides prospective parents and/or parents preparing for the birth or adoption of a child an overview of the Parental Leave policy.  The workshop will cover topics such as when and how to apply for parental leave, eligibility requirements, paid leave assurance and a review of other University policies associated with the Parental Leave benefit.
